An incredible Colan/Sinnott masterpiece! This historic splash is breathtaking and it was sad to let it go. But I'm so happy it went to a good friend's home!
A stunning masterpiece! One of Ken's finest and one of his earliest oil paintings! I know I will regret selling this one!
One of the most exquisite and finest Ken Kelly paintings, from his peak period! And one of Ken's favorites too. Ken called it The Ant.
A stunning masterpiece by the unparalleled master fantasy and Sci/Fi painter, Ken Kelly! Bravo. And congrats!
A stunning DC Bronze Age cover! Garcia Lopez goodness!
One of my favorite DC stories from the early 70s. Vigilante was great. Giordano's incredible inks make Sekowsky look like a god. I have the semi splash right before this page from this issue. Big congrats
Ryan, a superb Flash cover by one of my favorite artists/inkers. Dick Giordano was DC's greatest inker...ever! But he was also a great artist. A perfect example of his immense talent.
Wow, wow. Ryan, I'm one of those old timers who loves jack Abel's inks. Superb Cap page by my favorite artist, the incomparable Sal Buscema.
Ryan, a stunner! I used to own this page. I'm so glad it was you snagged it. A stellar Aparo example!
Ryan, a stunning Joe Kubert War cover! Bronzer Age DC magic! Bravo!
Jonny, thanks for the comment. I have not bid on a Ken Kelly painting in over a decade.
But the two culprits bidding against you, I know who they are. Lol
Ken Kelly is one of the most underrated masters IMO. Who will get his due. His 1970s work is unparalleled. And some of his 1980s work and 1990s work is exquisite too.
keep bidding. They are still steals in auction.

Keif, without a doubt one of the most historically significant and culturally relevant comics! Dan ONeile's legal ordeal with Disney has become stuff of legend. Congrats on owning another beautiful and rare piece. I am always astounded by the breadth of your collection of important and historical pieces of art! Bravo once again!
Wow, a quite striking, rare, and historic cover! Mary Marvel is probably the most popular Marvel Family character for so many fans. It has to feel good to own a special cover like this one. Congrats!
Keif, a breathtaking all pencil Jack Kirby Darkseid DPS. Absolutely priceless. And a truly rare piece. Congrats on owning this historic and currently relevant art as Darkseid should appear on the big screen soon!
Keif, an astounding Frazetta masterpiece! The best Frazetta B and W piece he ever drew. Man, it's incredulous it only garnered six comments in 12 years when you see all the drek posted daily and they get 20-30 comments. Congrats on owning this breathtaking cover!
Keif, a truly stunning and significant splash. It features so many of DC's most revered characters, especially Dr Fate, a personal favorite. Reading your description about your quest to get all the signatures was astounding to say the least. It did not surprise me though. Because I witnessed firsthand how diligently and intensely you persue your creator signatures. It's almost supernatural how you managed to obtain some of them. Congrats on another stunner for your amazing collection.
Chris, a superb DPS. The ever lovin Thing vs: Red Hulk! An incredible image featuring two of the most powerful beings in the MCU. Although the Hulk is the strongest there is, The Thing is a personal favorite because of his non stop perseverance and heart! Congrats on your quest in obtaining this personal Grail. This hobby is about nostalgia and when we find one of our grails, the emotional satisfaction is almost overwhelming!
Robert, a truly astonishing and epic page. The new team headed by Captain America is announced here by old shell head. Iron Man's realization that the old has to move on and make room for the young. His words are filled with melancholy but also create an uplifting mood and excitement about the new team.
Alex, one of Ken Kelly's greatest paintings. A big bravo on obtaining this stunning piece into your collection. An epic Conan oil painting by the master of fantasy art!
Karim, I owned this great splash for many years. Luke Cage at his finest. I'm glad it went to a good home!
The punch that rocked the universe! Thrown by the mightiest hero in the Marvel Universe. Being the custodian of the Big John equivalent, I truly appreciate this masterpiece splash more than any one else, maybe even more than you. Nuff said!
Jason, a stunner Frenz masterpiece. I am so glad you were able to get this deal done. I know how badly you wanted this. Frenz is a master artist who is finally reaching the perch on which he belongs.
Marcus, a stunning splash! Big John is one of my favorites and when inked by Palmer, what you have is lightning in a bottle! Annihilus is one of my favorite villains! Bravo
Glynn, a stunning Ken Kelly masterpiece. Ken was at the peak of his powers here! bravo
Keif, an epic Silver Age gem cover! Just perfect. I saw this in person and it is absolutely astounding!
Keif, congrats on getting this glorious page. I know how bad you wanted it. A truly significant and historic page. George Papp's layout and design here is excellent!
Jason, I just realized I never commented on this magnificent Thor cover! One of my favorite villains of the Fantastic Four, Annihilus, vs: The God of Thunder, Thor! Epic, indeed! And Lady Sif and Balder in the background too. The Frenz/Sinnott collaboration was truly magical. Frenz’s masterful layout design is just perfect here. Thor was one of my favorite titles in the 1970s, and it became one of my favorite titles from 1989 to the early 1990s, mainly due to Frenz/Sinnott’s rendering of Thor. Congrats on obtaining this glorious cover my friend. See you at Umberto's next week!
Wow, a blast from the past. This was one of the 1st panel pages I ever bought, all the way back in 2003. Congrats on a breathtaking Punisher page. It is just perfect.
A stunning Ken Kelly masterpiece! One of Ken's best paintings! Congrats on an incredible acquisition
Ron, a breathtaking and historic Marie Severin complete story. Bravo. I always say the pinnacle of collecting is the pleasure of owning a complete story. And knowing it will stay intact in your hands adds to the pleasure.

Jason, a glorious Frenz Thor cover! A great addition to your fabulous collection ! I want to see it in person. Bring it to Umberto’s next week. Oh, and you are paying for lunch.
Steve, an incredible cover! I still have my Baby Huey #1 comic, albeit with a small piece of the cover missing. A rare and historic treat!
Mike, time to sell me this cover and buy some more GA art. Just sayin...
Keif, a true masterpiece! Historic, iconic, and dare I say, a very glorious cover!
Actually I should modify the description as this cover qualifies as a "headlight" cover! Lol. Veronica is smokin' on this cover, actually smoldering hot! Lol
Wow Marcus. Thanks for the info. I was tempted to mention the ad for the TV show. But I figured most of the newbies that populate CAF these days were not even born in 1987. I also doubt any of them ever read an Archie comic. lol
Bill, nice to hear from you. It's been a long time. I had to hold my nose to get this one. Sadly, it cost me more to get this page than I paid for five of the other pages from this issue combined. I almost let it go. The price points of today make it impossible to buy anything these days. The speculators are here and there is nothing we can do about it.
Larry, a stunning Lee Bermejo cover! Batman holding a gun! You don’t see that often. In fact, we only saw it a few times since the Golden Age. The Spirit, Will Eisner’s epic creation. And the one and only Doc Savage! Doc precedes even Superman as a comic character! I am so happy for you my friend. Congrats for finding a Grail worthy cover!
Fisch, a breathtaking Silver Surfer page by the incomparable John Buscema! Congrats on obtaining your grail.
Paul, great observation. Yes, Saint-Cloud breaks up with Ted in this panel page citing she would be just a "hippie wife" to his business associates! The genius of Steve Gerber is so evident in this story All comic fans in the 1970s were blessed with his writing. The comic medium was unworthy of his immense talent as comics back then were written mostly for 13 year olds. Sigh!
Paul, thank you for the kind words. I love grail pages like this. I have been looking for the rest but to no avail. As we get older, we realize our own mortality and come to grasp with the fact that we wont be here forever. And sadly, even our love for comic art will eventually waine. But I think we have a decade or two more to collect. (sorry for the macabre ravings. lol)
Marc, a classic and historic splash. Aparo was "the Batman artist" for most of us that grew up in the 1970s. He was unparalleled as an artist to me. His Batman, Spectre, Aquaman, and Phantom Stranger was the zenith of art. He drew, inked, and lettered most of his work in the Bronze Age, and he never submitted a late assignment. The utmost professional. Bravo on a stunning piece of art.
Joe, congrats. Your immense talent was already evident back then!
Dave, a stellar Hulk page by the great Sal Buscema. Sal’s Hulk was an incredible 10 year run for Sal and you can see by the effort he put into this stunning page, that his Hulk run would become an epic and historic labor of love.
