DescriptionAfter surpassing the century mark on my "Iron" Throne theme earlier this year, I decided it was time to shake things up a bit and instead of having a character simply claim the throne, why not have and all-out, knock-down, drag-out battle for it? The only question was, what artist should kick off this new phase for my theme? Luckily my pal, Bill Lait, was eager to share a new commission he had just gotten from Chris Batista. I knew upon seeing it that Chris was my guy! His details are amazing and clean and his figures are imbued with a true sense of movement and life. After explaining my theme to Chris and discussing how I was looking to mix it up, he was immediately on board. Once I gave him a list of suggested characters, there was no looking back. To say Chris is a huge fan of Ann Nocenti and Arthur Adams' Longshot mini-series would be an understatement. He poured huge amounts of love and respect into this brilliant piece. I couldn't ask for more for this new take on my theme . . . right artist, right characters and maybe a little luck. Thanks Chris!Social/Sharing |

Yeah baby! Now you're talkin'! I love Arthur's LS series, and it's obvious that Chris does too! What an incredible battle scene. So happy to see that your GoT theme has been revitilized with this interesting new twist. You'll be hitting that 200 mark before you know it.

Ha! First and foremost, thanks for the comment, Eric. I always enjoy hearing your thoughts. Secondly, 200 is a long way off! ;)

If you're going to go GOT battle for the throne, can we get Elephants this time?
