DescriptionSize: 11 x 17Year: 2009 Dream Hunters was one of my favorite stories from the Sandman series for a variety of reasons. It was hauntingly beautiful and it played on the classic fox spirit tale. P Craig Russell loved the story so much that he wanted to draw the comic but unfortunately at the time, the decision was made to have the tale told in an illustrated book form with art done by the legendary Yoshitaka Amano. Ten years passed and luckily for all of us, Craig asked to adapt it again and thus we managed to get PCR's vision of Dream Hunters! His work is a glorious adapation of the illustrated book that came before it and words simply do not do it justice. I would highly recommend reading both the illustrated book by Amano and the comic adaption by PCR. This was used as a variant cover to Issue #1 as well as the back cover to the TPB. Only a few standalone splashes were sold with the rest kept by PCR so I consider myself very fortunate to have this piece. Big shoutout to Ryan for acquiring this as a birthday gift when I had just finished a major purge in the collection : ) Social/Sharing |

This cover is one of the best in the series. Congrats buddy. That cape.....

Wow! Absolutely stunning cover to Sandman Dream Hunters #1 by P. Craig Russell. I love this drawing of Sandman rising up almost like a Jinni, with his Raven flying overhead. I love how his body flows like water from the sand. And directly in front of him the story plsys out, like a performance he's paid to attend. It's a splendid piece of art. IMHO, P. Criag Russell doesn't get nearly the attention he deserves from comic art collectors. His skill at compositiom, anatomy, and inkwork is amazing but you don't see very much of his work in collector's galleries. Thank you for sharing this extraordinary piece.

Been watching the 2nd season of the show and this just pushes me even more to start looking for a Sandman piece to add to my gallery. Loved PCR on this!
