DescriptionSize: 23"x29.5"Year: 2006 I had my eye on some auction pieces when what I thought was previously unavailable more than 12 months ago suddenly became so right at my birthday....I was forced to let some pieces go, give up what I had set my heart on at auctions because this is my favorite FRIGGIN KINGDOM COME cover! When I first read Kingdom Come in my youth I was absolutely blown away. I still think its Alex's Ross's best work. My very first Absolute edition purchased was Kingdom Come and the slipcase was this very piece of art. In a more recent version, this piece became the cover and its has been used in multiple prints and posters too. Its a special moment for me and definitely my one and done for Alex's work! Huge thanks to Tiz, Sal and Alex for making this happen! Social/Sharing |

Kingdom Come might go down as the pinnacle of Alex Ross' career! It was apparent that it was his passion project with the care he took to craft each work. This is a special piece that speaks to how enduring this story is and how the heroic ideal still resonnates in the modern iteration of DC comics.

I am thrilled to see this epic piece in your collection. It hits like a punch to the face that says "Josh came, Josh saw, Josh SLAYED!"

How cool! A good Ross KC piece is as good as it gets!
Despite working in acrylic for many years, it looks like he did this piece in watercolor, just like he did on the original series almost 20 years ago. Very awesome.

this is amazing, josh. very happy for you. tbh, for me KC is the last time the DCU was really truly awesome - and you got such a nice representation of that.

Love it. Not going to remove the tape?
I did! Alex used it to stick tracing paper on to design other elements of the Absolute cover.

OMG! What an absolutely incredible painting. Alex Ross really put everything into this piece. Not only does it include a phenomenal number of key characters in one painting, it does so with an explosion of energy and power. Kingdom Come was Ross's passion project, the culmination of years of thought and energy. And there is no single painting from the book that better symbolizes the story. Congratulations on picking up a superb work of art that really is one of the best any comic art collector could acquire.
