Description

Skulldigger reflects back on his own childhood as he considers whether to "rescue"/kidnap the kid from child services. This scene happens in an important and recurring location within the story.

This piece spoke to me personally for multiple reasons. It reminded me of late night kitchen table exchanges with my emotionally problematic and critically ill father (the skull helmet in between the two figures being quite poignant to the context); but the more literal aspect of Skulldigger's self-reflection back to his childhood experiences also hit home, for obvious reasons.

Tonci Zonjic's work in this series is fantastic, as is Jeff Lemire's writing, with looping nods to itself throughout. He did most of the series digitally but handled a few splashes and DPSs traditionally.

Wooow. I have no idea what this series is, but now I need to find out. Beautiful page.
