DescriptionOne of the most significant comic book stories for me when I was younger was the Asgardian Wars. I was a big X-Men and Alpha Flight fan and I was obsessed with those books. I'm very sceptical about ever being able to own anything from those books, but even this cool sketch by Paul Smith is a way for me to scratch a bit of that itch.I must admit to totally losing track of Paul Smith after that run, but looking back into him now I'm finding his work to somehow be even better than it was back then. You can't say that about everyone who was big in the 80s. His inking on this piece is particularly good. The hair, the jeans, the boots... all fantastic. PS: Nobody hate on the short stubby claws... maybe they're still mid-snikt! :D Acquired via ComicLink auction. Social/Sharing |

It was cold that day. Paul Smith's drawings are tight as he doesn't have the deadlines and can fully flesh out all the details. His post X-Men work was non Marvel, but they do have his fun cartoon look with that smooth line.

"It was cold that day"... I'll admit that it took me a minute, but this really made me laugh. Thanks!

Asgardian Wars was as big for me as the Dark Phoenix saga so I can relate ;)
Great Wolvie sketch. And those short claws look so great (…)

Great facial expression on Logan - one that you don't see every day. Smith did his usual stellar work here.
