Description

This is the first comic I can remember reading as a kid and a page (any page) from it has been at the top of my grail list since I started collecting. I was ecstatic to check it off the list only recently with the purchase of this page: https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=2055784. <--(More details in the description of that page.) But, finding that page also spurred me to contact Curt Shoultz and see if he still owned any pages he'd being willing to part with. This is one of three pages Curt was kind enough to sell me.

Interesting note: Curt mentioned that this was only the second book he inked in his career. It was Brock Hor's first project. Fantastic early work from both of them in my opinion.

On this page we see Wonder Woman, Batman, and Superman asking Hal Jordan to take back up the mantle of the Green Lantern and join the fight against the alien Horde. In this Elseworlds story, Jordon has spent the last 10 years burying the seven million people of Coast City who were slaughtered in the initial war with the invaders.

This is the page just before my favorite page in the whole book.

Just a stunning page as a down and out Hal is called upon for a chance at redemption! You can feel he's broken even with the enouragement from his long time JLA teammates. Hor and Shoultz bring a deeper level of emotion knowning the full story behind Emerald Twilight.
