Description

Page 2 of the Meet the Author story from Cracked #4, September of 1958. Burgos art seems kinda rare, so I feel like to have both pages from this story! Even better, he drew a little Human Torch comic (okay...Humin' Tosch) so I can say I have an original Human Torch page by Carl Burgos! Neat! This page is in as rough shape as the first page, missing a lot of paste-ups, but most of the art is in pace. Love this page!

Pretty fun gag page! The Burgos line / duo tone art and the rest assembled to bring this level of quality for the early pages of Cracked set the bar seriously high for the humor magazine.

It wasn't until I was studying the early Cracked Magazines because of these two pages and a Gray Morrow page that I own that I realized HOW high that art bar for Cracked was. An AMAZING group of artists!
