DescriptionAn oversized commission of the Daily Planet's second best reporter running into a telephone booth and emerging as the Man of Steel. Tom Grummett was one of the seminal artists of my teenage years in the 1990s and I loved his work on the Robin book in particular. Whenever I think of Tim Drake, I think of Mr. Grummett's work on the character. My thanks to Tom for taking on my commission idea and to Byron Hamm for facilitating it.Do kids these days even know what a phone booth was? Social/Sharing |

Absolute perfection, both the idea and the rendering. Getting to see 100% pure Grummett art is the best part of seeing seeing him open up his commission list on a regular basis, as it was very rare to see him ink himself when he worked on monthly comics. Getting this done on the large sized board makes this an even more impressive piece!

That is quite the compliment coming from the person who is this website's foremost Tom Grummett art collector! Thank you very much and I agree it's a treat to see Tom ink his own pencils.

Grummett over Grummett is really nice. Super clean lines and inks...as you'd expect with this subject. ;) This is a fantastic commission. As for kids knowing what a phone booth is? They'd probably walk in and think, "Wait...where's the toilet?" Nice find. Congrats!

Thank you, my friend, for the always kind and thoughtful comments. And I'm laughing reading your comment about kids walking into an old phone booth and looking for the toilet!
