Description

The Death and Return of Wolverine came out when I was no longer reading comics.. but when I got back into it I did seek them out as it was a couple of pretty big storylines for the old cancukle head. In these books Steven Mcniven took it to another level. I personally think the return of Wolverine is his best work: about as close to the BWS Weapon X as anyone could be. So I’ve been looking for a good example for a while. It was a bit tricky because Steven did the pencils digitally and these were Blue Line inked by Jay Leisten. Having no existing pencils puts these pages into a gray area for collectors and causes the prices to be kind of all over the place. So
When I saw this one for a reasonable price I grabbed it! Some great action with Wolverine slicing someone in half.. and great close ups of those Mcniven faces!

A sharp looking ink job by Jay Leisten to bring out the BWS flavor in the McNiven artwork! It's so bloody and brutal, that censors should definitely keep this in black and white without any red.

I got some in this digital pencils only space...I tend towards seeing the inks as THE original art as that's all there is. In any case, a great looking page in terms of the individual panel images but also the story they weave together. Sweet BWS vibes. Congrats, man!
