Description

I was introduced to Abrera's work while re-watching one of Next Comic Art's show with Bill. Missed out on some of the great pieces offered in that show so decided to reach out to Jiggy to set something up. Noticed Manix had done a few Spider-man meme renditions so decided to go with arguably Batman's most famous meme -- just one minute later (with apologies to MikeOML)!

Manix gets the humor of the times using his whimsical cartoony style as commentary on how absurd modern culture has become obsessed with memes and superheroes. He uses the surface texture of the Khandi paper to it's fullest giving this itself a sort of app filter into the surreal visions. The backgrounds are just precious and this take on the slap meme can only be surpassed if (Will Smith) Deadshot was cheering Robin on.

Great take on the Batman gif that has been up for ages. Manix is a genius in so many ways. Great pickup here.
