This page is really something. I'm both disturbed and delighted by it. In terms of its effect, I'm reminded of Gilbert's later work.

This is next level stuff. All the implied trauma imprinted in the mind of a child with the story being told like a fairy tale.

Indeed. Old framimg job, close to 20 years ago +, very affected, with a black mount, having it reframed accoding to more minimal, generic contemporary tastes: White mount, natural wood boxe frame, full bleed, etc. The black inks of Errata's hair will shoutsh out even more so.
