DescriptionElektra Natchios dealing cards in a game of Baccarat reminds me of my old days at Hollywood Park Casino. (I was corporation, if you don't know what that means, I'll tell you the long-winded version someday in person.)I was really into Fall From Grace and that carried over into Root of Evil. Potentially blasphemous, but I'm pretty sure I read Root of Evil way before the Miller/Sienkiewicz Elektra. The large figure of Dominic Mascetti is unmistakably Scott McDaniel with all the influences that Sin City had on this era of Daredevil and his work. Also Scott McDaniel was kind enough to include a personalized letter along with the artwork, which I've included as a secondary image (minus some PII). Social/Sharing |

Very stylish in the jet setting high stakes assassin's world. Looks better without the computer colors and patterns thrust upon it. Thankfully this page did leave the big image's background open because all the patterns of the suit were already busy.

Fantastic, high contrast artwork that works really well in black and white.

Scott McDaniel's work has always had a heavy emphasis on composition and page design and this is no exception!

Awesome page!!! I'm a big fan of the Elektra Root Of Evil mini and I might be in the same boat as you as far as having read it before Miller's run. And I used to play a little poker at HPC! ;-)

McDaniel...SO good with use of shadow and that last big image is the perfect example. Shadows across the face with that grin...perfect. Congrats!
