Description

Phil Davis Mandrake the Magician Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 11-21-39 (King Features Syndicate, 1939). Lee Falk had created Mandrake in the dual capacity of writer-artist, but then enlisted Phil Davis, a more polished illustrator, to draw the feature. This daily titled "A Poor Loser" was created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 20.5" x 4.5".
