Description

I had the pleasure of meeting Von Randal and his lovely wife Eureka at OAX. They were so nice, along with the entire Next Comic Art crew. Meeting them was one of my highlights of the convention. I picked up this fine illustration of Spawn. I remember buying the first issue of Spawn back in the day thinking it might be worth something down the road. Not sure what the going price is these days for that issue though. Back to this piece, I was told that it could possibly be a cover one day.

Awesome illustration by Von! Spawn is one of my favorite characters to occasionally perch/pose/crouch on a gargoyle!

Von is a rising star as a cover artist in the Spawn titles! This may have been something he had in his portfolio that demonstrated his skills to them as this has it all on display.

Now this is a beast of a Spawn illustration! Randal absolutely nailed the brutal, gothic energy! Those spikes, chains, and massive weapons are pure badassery. The shading and detail give it such a powerful, almost sculptural look, like it could leap right off the page!
