Q&A with Michael Reyes

Which piece in your gallery is your favorite and why?

Punisher Magazine 12 was one of the first and few comics that I owned and loved to read as a teen. This cover was painted by Joe Jusko.

Please tell us a little about yourself.

I live in NJ and work in an investment management firm in NY. I’m also father to a 9 year old daughter. I went to school in the Boston region so I am a supporter of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. I am a supporter of FC Bayern München as well. On youtube my handle is makipoopoo.

How long have you been collecting comic art and what prompted you to start?

My earliest commission was from 2011 but it wasn’t until 2014 that I purchased my first interior page. I wanted to own pages of comics that I read growing up — out of nostalgia. It probably grew out of my collecting habits of toys. It wasn’t till only recently though that I took this hobby more seriously instead of being just a casual collector.

How do you display/store your collection at home?

I have some pieces framed and the rest are in portfolios.
