Description

A cool companion piece to my Arthur Adams Showcase ("breaking glass") cover, this time with Spidey and Agent Venom, courtesy of artist Declan Shalvey. While our favorite web-slinger is found in another classic McFarlanesque pose, the character truly stealing the show here (IMO) is Agent Venom, who just looks like the perfect badass not to deal with if you are around. Thanks to Bill who actually succeeded in selling me the piece while originally inquiring to buy one from me (in retrospect, I wonder if it was not all part of a carefully calculated plan ;)

How could you go wrong with a design concept mixing Spidey and the Punisher? You can't. Shalvey is a great Spider-man artist. I love his take on everyone's favorite web-slinger. And my hand is cramping just looking at all those shards of glass. That could be a cover image. Great switcheroo score. ;) Congrats!

I've always been a big fan of Agent Venom and Declan's work on that run. Nice illustration!

Wow! Very cool Spider-Man and Agent Venom illustration! Love Spidey's McFarlanesque pose as he drops through a glass skylight. And Agent Venom looks like he's ready to take out anyone who dares to challenge either of them. Gorgeous work by Declan Shavley.
