Description

Another Comic Strip Original Art piece I received as a free gift with other purchases from a vendor.

This Buz Sawyer Daily Strip art features the titular character, from King Features Syndicate. The backside shows a burnin that was likely caused from the acid in paper and solvents, when they were stored over the years. Apparently a big action scene from the imprint that is visible, definitely a fun piece it was stacked on.

Feel free to educate me further on this kind of strip art, King Features, John Celardo and Buz Sawyer as it’s always fun to hear extra bits of history from those on here that might know it.

I hope strip art makes a comeback one day, because examples like this highlight the art form and what makes it unique to the typical comic shop singles. Great piece, thanks for sharing!

Really neat jungle done with just the duo tone solution applied by brush like paint.
