DescriptionGene Day passed away too young at the age of 31. His work peaked while working in Master of Kung Fu. One of the under-appreciated artists who could have been one of the greats. 11x17"Social/Sharing |

Brunners Doctor Strange and Gene Day's MOKF were the two books I thought of as fine art. Head and shoulders above the rest.

This is Steranko like Nick Fury #3 or classic gothic romance paperback book cover composition redone for it to have the Asian elements of a Shang-Chi cover!

This cover is a powerful example of Gene Day’s talent and dedication to the craft. His detailed linework and striking compositions gave the series a unique, almost cinematic feel. You can really see the energy and intensity he brought to Shang-Chi’s world, blending dynamic action with a rich sense of atmosphere. It’s bittersweet knowing how much more he could have accomplished, but even more than four decades after his passing, his work still stands as a testament to his incredible skill. A truly underrated artist who left a lasting mark.

Really pretty example of his MOKF work. He had a really distinctive style - would have loved to have seen what he could do on other titles if not for his untimely passing.

Gene Day is one of the greats. His ruin on MOKF is a classic like Marshall Rogers' run on Detective. Spectacular cover, congrats!

Agree 100% across the board. Died too young. Under-appreciated. Could have been one of the greats.
Congrats on landing this one, no doubt a fave from that magical period.

Handsome Gene Day Master of Kung Fu cover! Love this cover art with the tight close-up of Shang-Chi's face. In the background is a villainous Si-Fan assassin and in the foreground,. the lovely Leiko Wu. I always enjoyed reading MOKF and the cool scenes of Shang-Chi kicking ninjas and other bad guys in the face. Loved Gene Day's fantastic work on the title. He had a great talent for telling action-oriented stories and making the martial arts look believable. Great pick-up, congrats!

Great example of Day's work. Killer composition, and definitely makes you want to open up the book to see what's up inside. Congrats, man!
