DescriptionCannot begin to describe how psyched I am to own a Black Suit Spider-Man cover by Ron Lim!Like many that grew up in the late 80s/early 90s, I was captivated by his artwork on Silver Surfer & the Infinity books. So when I saw this convergence of two childhood favorites (artist + character), it struck a cord. The action is fluid & dynamic, enhanced by the rotated point of view. Spidey's web swinging & pumpkin bomb dodging skills are on full display. The pose is great, really accentuating that iconic costume. But the Hobgoblin giving chase is what put this one over the top for me. Of the many goblins, I find the Hob variety to be the most badass of all. Maybe its the color scheme, the more aggressive looking glider, the stories... I dunno. But I do know that I love that image of him lobbing bombs, with reckless abandon, while maniacal laughter echoes through the streets below! A striking scene, with that classic look & feel, by an all-time great. Could not be happier. Many thanks to Ron & Drew! Social/Sharing |

The Hob update was one of those rare instances where an update/new character iteration was right up there with the original! Loved the Frenz stories, vs a black costumed Spidey, which this takes me back to. While also being a killer piece in and of itself by one of the best to ever do it in Ron Lim. Congrats!

Thanks. And ageed, that Frenz run was ledendary. It is still among my all-time favorites. So when I spotted this one, it definitely got my "Nostalgia Sense" tingling.

This looks tighter than what he produced back then as he was tackling many books for Marvel non stop and plenty of them keys. It's awesome that he can show off every skill accumulated over years to make something that is completely his done to the maximum.
