DescriptionI sometimes prefer if villains’ origins remain a mystery. Reveal too much and they lose their appeal. That was my take with Mr. Sinister upon his first appearance on the X-Men. I remember Claremont, at a convention, say he had original intentions with him but never came to fulfill it. Future writers took him to directions I didn't expect, but with interesting takes. Regardless, Sinister, (and Apocalypse), were the main villains when I was in the beginning of reading the X books. But it was Sinister that I found more intriguing.Silvestri was always THE X-Men artist for me and I know that he has a lot of uncanny peers who drew before and after him. But his dynamic style is etched in my mind. Of all the characters to choose this one was obvious given the era I enjoyed. Social/Sharing |
