This cover doesn't lie as that convention invaded the landscape of comic cons in the Silicon Valley to claim the territory as their own. They then lost sight of what a comic con was by leaning into science and celebrity photo ops and selfies until they drove away all comics talent and comicbook dealers from the show. Tony Parker may have been one of the few there who could have pulled off a comic book styled cover for the program.

I think you might be correct. In the one picture I found of the published version, the cover blurb is "The Future of Humanity: What Will Our World Look Like in 2025?" That sounds more geared to science than comics.
