DescriptionCutting Class….at Ninja High!I don’t think even the word grail is fitting when it comes to this cover. My favorite artist, drawing my favorite character, and it’s my favorite cover from my favorite run! One of the first pieces of comic art I got was a Deadpool sketch cover by Ed McGuinness and since that moment I’ve had my heart set on getting a cover from this series. Two have come up at auction recently and twice I failed to get one. I won’t lie I was very disappointed but that’s part of the hobby and I pretty much had given up on having one. Thankfully it was meant to be as I was able to work out a deal with a fellow Caf member and trade a few things to add this to my collection! This to me is one of the finest covers from McGuinness time on that run and it’s elevated by the bold inks by Nathan Massengill. This image featuring a huge shot of DP and the silhouettes of ninjas was used as a TPB cover, Omnibus, and poster. I still can’t believe this happened but I am so glad it did! Social/Sharing |

Awesome Deadpool cover by EMC. I guess the third time really is the charm. So glad you were finally able to land a DP cover, and a really special one to boot. Love the Ninjas as the bottom.

A definitive take on the character! The ninjas are the perfect antagonist- they could be from any era, and the main DP image is totally timeless and in McGuinness' distinctive bulky style. Congrats, man- I know how special this one is for you!

This era of Deadpool is where his personality really took off and made it attractive to a wider audience! McGuinness' buff guy look also solidified! A big time cover!

Classic Deadpool #2 cover by Ed McGuinness. Funny whenever I think of Deadpool, I always think of Ed's covers. His style is usually somewhat humorous in tone which makes it perfecrt for Wade Wilson. On this cover we see a bulked-up Deadpool attacking a group of black-clothed ninjas. For once, McGuinness plays it straight, giving us a heroic looking Deadpool taking on a bunch of black cloaked bad guys. But you just know there's gonna be lots of wisecracks coming from the Merc with the Mouth. Great pick-up, congrats!
