DescriptionI loved this one-shot when it came out, and it's still funny today! With story and layouts by Fred Hembeck and various guest artists, it featured Marvel characters roasting the FF in honor of their 20th anniversary. This funny page features the classic 80's X-Men lineup and came out the same month as X-Men #157.While Denys Cowan is primarily known for his DC work, particularly The Question, he started out doing a few minor jobs at Marvel, including this page. It actually looks quite a bit like Brent Anderson's art and Joe Rubinstein even wrote Anderson's name on the back of the page when he inked it. (Someone else later crossed that out and put Cowan's name back on.) The page is signed by Fred Hembeck, who drew the Hembeck head in the top left corner. Thanks to Paul A. for selling this to me. These pages don't show up too often. Social/Sharing |

Damn, you beat me to it, Ted! I LOVE this book and have since I bought it the day it came out. Ah well, I'm still happy for you though. Enjoy it, man!

For x-men fans, this was a completists' must have comic. Part of the nostalgic pull was when these odd crossovers occurred and discovered later on through price guides or friends. You didn't know if it was going to be good or not, but was sold the moment X-men were mentioned. This great page was the only one I cared about or remembered as a child because of that.

Cheese and crackers! What's next, a page from Obnoxio the Clown vs the X-Men? (I half expect the answer to be yes-- the odds are that low only because I haven't checked to see if you already have a page in your collection.)

Leave it to Wolvie to make it all weird. To be fair, though, he does think stabbing is funny...Man, this one-off brings me back. Still funny, too. What a great score. Congrats!

Few comic books made me laugh harder as a kid than this one. Congrats on the great pickup!
