DescriptionKeepin’ Spidey posts going with this recent eBay win featuring Ms. Felicia Hardy, the Black Cat!I’ve liked the character since she was in a starring role alongside Spidey in Al Milgrom’s Spectacular Spider-Man run of the ‘80s. I loved that their interplay was all over the place – enemies, friends, partners, funny, sad, happy, etc…and back again! One thing it never was – dull! So this 2 part story by Joe Kelly in ASM took me back, had some great art by McKone, and this particular issue was wrapped in one of my favorite J. Scott Campbell covers. Got Felicia here in all 5 panels with the featured image, IMO, being panel 3, followed closely by 5. I like the more animated look, and you’ve also got some sexy as well as playful on display. And got Spidey on the receiving end of her bad luck powers :) I think some of McKone’s art is OK while some is really nice, and this of course, is in the latter category for me. My first piece by him. Lanning’s dark inks round things out, especially with Felicia’s costume. Overall, a very nice rendition of the Cat! Thanks for looking! Social/Sharing |

Great page K! Black Cat has always been a favorite of mine and this piece has her in gorgeous poses!

Totally agree. A great Spidey friend AND foe. Her debut issue, ASM 194, I think might've been released the month I was born. Published date is July 1979 but if I remember right the actual release dates for comics at the time were around the month prior - I was born in June. In any case it was close!
And I hope you don't take Spidey's comments here on DD personally ;) Thanks man, and all, for the comments!

Okay, that last panel may be my all-time favorite depiction of the Black Cat. Can we get McKone to create a couple of model sheets of Ms. Hardy for other artists to follow?

Love McKone art - and this one is a fun page - seems perfect for writing our own dialog as the action and posing is quite open to interpretation. Love it!
