DescriptionDay 03. Thirty-One days of Star Wars (2024 edition) continues! On the Nihil ship the "Gaze Electric" and on the Republic's Starlight Beacon, Krix Kamerat and Zeen Mrala watch messages they have sent each other on a pair of matched holoprojectors. Zeen tells Krix how much she misses him and how she wishes she could tell him what happened in person, but Krix is still angry that Zeen never told him she was Force-sensitive, because it means that he was wrong about knowing her better than anyone. Another long awaited posting on my part. Last July (2023), the Next Comic Art crew exhibited at their first San Diego Comic Con where I picked up this great panel page by Harvey. So much detail in all the work he does! And I am more and more enjoying the High Republic era stories which are breaking away from the Skywalker timelines to tell new tales in the Star Wars universe. I love how Harvey has balanced the two different atmospheres by weighting them 'light' and 'dark'. The rendering is beautiful!

Agreed M L. Weight is right. In addition to the shading, the dark panel is crowded and heavy, while the light panel is open and airy. And if memory serves, this is my first and only double half splash. Mighty fine.

In the tiny town of Henderson
You grew up loving what your Jiggy does
And you don't ask Mrala you knew Krix just the force
You would find July and Zeen too much
With a whole lot of work for a Harvey work of love
You can wind up right back where your Jiggy was
This little bitty town, Oh it ain't got Nihil
We all stick around 'cause the page is for you
Holograph line just to make you angrily loud
If I didn't think that he would take the whole page down
I'd ride with Harvey right out of this one force town

The album was on heavy rotation in my car CD player 10 years ago. That's right kids, it was a golden age with CD players in cars, and mine had a five disk changer. Come to think of it, still does. As always, thanks for the musical memories, Marcus!

Harvey always brings it! Love his work on THR. Krix and Zeen are definately 2 standout characters from that run, and love that you picked up something on the Gaze Electric ship!!

Harvey is an 18 year industry veteran, and his game is so on point already. But I feel his best is still to come. And I hope it is more Star Wars.

Wow, it feels like I'm looking at an interior page from the Spidey issue Paul P. posted a cover for yesterday by, I think, Chad Hardin. Very similar styles. Just like that one, this art by Tolibao reminds me very much of the art in Locke & Key. I love the "two half-splashes" design as well, really nice, like we're observing the scenes throug htwo different windows.
