DescriptionIf I could have a page from any SIN CITY story, it would have to be from the first one, THE HARD GOODBYE. With Marv, of course. Here he has Wolverine by the throat and balls. I suspect Miller's commentary on mainstream superhero comics at that point in time. But I also wonder if "Weevil" represents something more. Or someone in particular. Anyway, for the first appearance fanatics, our introduction to Nancy Callahan.Originally published as SIN CITY Episode 4 page 8. My thanks to Frank and Jason for letting this one escape from a certain red craftsman drawer! Social/Sharing |

Frank must have made 'THE HARD GOODBYE' when he let this beauty go. As historic and great as it comes in this hobby! Huge congrats!

To me, this is peak Miller and it feels fitting that this glorious (and gritty) page should be in your collection.

Felix, there's a lot to like in this page! Lovely lasso motion, powerful composition in the top panel, off-panel "GHAK" and Marv's face carved out of stone. Big congrats!

Lasso motion...Right. Spotted that while trying to see more in the darkly lit parts on view. That joint really needs better lighting.

Love studying all those faces in the bar. And hard agree, if I could get a FM SC page it would have to be from Hard Goodbye!

The creative freedom and creator control Miller had wanted was now in place. This was the time to put the creative energies and his legendary status to the test. Miller would lean in even further into the darkness and deliver hard hitting crime noir, the likes of which had not been seen in comics. Nothing about this was going to be pretty and it's raw gruesome nature left bare what the artist was offering to the public. No alterior motives, this was him and his unflinching view of the world that would expose and explore his thoughts on what is the best and worst in himself and human nature. In a gallery of only A level pieces, this has found a home.

The Hard Goodbye knocked the door down, and it's still my favorite of the Sin City stories. This is definitely a choice page from the whole Sin City series. Huge congratulations on acquiring this!

Great shot of Marv and Nancy. Beautiful page and exactly what any FM fan would want. Now you need to find a page with Goldie.

Thats not Wolverine. Marv would have needed more than sticking plasters if Weevil was Wolverine. He would have needed a body bag... for himself...Goldie colored!

Such a memorable page! What a bold look this was when Miller first put it out in DHP and it still hits me hard now. It's obviously Miller's work, but a totally new direction after all the various amazing styles he had pioneered before. I enjoyed seeing this when you teased the CAF live audience on youtube on Thursday, and of course it was moving when you acknowledged all the contributors to Paltown. BTW, please do continue to keep sold art posted to your site!

I've come to the conclusion that Frank Miller just sees the comic page in a different way than everyone else. He knows how to place black and white together to guide the viewer through the storytelling while also defining forms and figures in a way we've never seen before. It's genius, pure and simple. Congrats, Felix!

Pretty thrilling to see this. As a fan of the book it's fantastic you see this page "up close" on your CAF. As a relatively new member of the hubby is exhilarating to see this come right out of Franks hands into the wild. What other gems were in that drawer? The imagination runs wild. Congratulations!

Excellent page! The Dark Knight run is phenomenal, but the Hard Goodbye will always be peak Miller to me. Congrats, Felix! This is truly amazing.

I think you're right. Adjectiveless Sin City (I refuse to use its rebranded name) is peak Frank

Yup, another reason for me to break my "no panel page" rule. If someone ever comes along who uses negative space more effectively and dramatically than Frank, that would indeed be something to see. Of course I expect us all to be long gone by then.

If there was one to pick... You did the right thing! Nancy and Marv on the same page (not counting the Wolverine cameo) is priceless!
