Haven't seen this one before...fantastic! Thanks Bill!
The Corben/Azzarello collaborations from the early 2000s are some of my favorite comics from that period. Such a cool page from CAGE!
It's your commitment to the theme that results in home runs like this. Always a perfect pairing of artist and character.
The first 20 issues remains, to me, one of the best reads of the teens. Great, key Oppenheimer page.
Doesn't get much better for Schultz and XENOZOIC TALES. Congrats, Bill!
Some of the best art of the era came from the comics mags. Case in point. Congrats Duke!
For many, the best, most memorable cover of the series. Congrats on this incredible score. Never noticed the reflection in the glasses before...blown away!!
This entire page, from top to bottom, is ridiculous. The man is a legend.
What a buy this turned out to be. Congrats, Jason. And I'm glad this is how we met!
Home run after home run!!
Wow! So that's where this has been! Congrats on picking up a key Snyder work so early!
For us Bay Area comics nerds of a certain age, Friedrich is an especially important figure. The local convention scene was largely shaped by him. But even without all that, there's STAR REACH. Have always liked this cover and it's great seeing it again here!
WOW! Don't believe this has popped up publicly before! Thanks for sharing...always a treat to see a prime Mazz BA page!!
You know how I feel about Rude, NEXUS, "Bowl-Shaped World"...all of it. So right there with you. What a write-up!
Great early page with Yorick, Amp, President Brown that sets the quest in motion. Congrats!
My consignment! Got it signed by BKV! Congrats on winning it!
Apparently the original owner got this when he was a kid at SDCC...thanks to a loan from his dad! Let's give it up for dads!! And congrats!!
Fantastic. Show it off when we do a Jaime L&R update video!!
Just looking at this I could SWEAR I saw this before as a promo ad piece. Or this could be the comics version of the Mandala Effect...
Either way, killer piece!
DWJ did for Transformers what Frank Miller did for Batman. Completely overhaul fan perception by bringing gravitas and acclaim to a disrespected property. From a corporate IP standpoint, this type of image makeover is priceless. Congrats on owning a kickass piece of a comics miracle!
WOW!! Had no idea you won this! Would have congratulated you in person! But glad to have finally met you in person, no matter what. Hope we can meet again down the road!
Thanks for writing all this down and sharing the pics for posterity!
Congrats on getting in line early! All went so fast...even before the Annual had come out!
Wow! Customary Rude perfection. Haven't seen this before...a real treat! Thanks for sharing!
My favorite cover from this series. Early peek into DWJ's potential. Congrats!
I remember reading SILVERHEELS and thinking "where did this guy com from?" Of course, his Batman is equally stunning. Congrats!
Dan's a great guy and this is a great page! Keith really helped to elevate the second half of MAGE. Congrats Jim!
The inventory page. Marv came prepared. Apparently you did too at OAX! CONGRATS!!
Simply incredible. You've done it AGAIN!
Not sure I've ever seen anything DKR-related from Travis before...glad that's been rectified! Congrats, Joe!
We seriously like all the same stuff, haha! Congrats on landing this!!
You could charge admission to see this. I'd pay!
This was not on eBay, I purchased it from a local collector. For a bit less than $15K. It's already been 20 years, time flies!
The BATMAN BLACK AND WHITE story got Nick ABSOLUTE BATMAN. And this got him the BATMAN BLACK AND WHITE story. Congrats and THANK YOU for your support of our charity!!
These early Mignolas are so cool. And evocative of a period when he and Art Adams both lived in Oakland and I'd see them at Berkeley comic shop, Comics & Comix. A lot of their early art passed through there. Maybe this one did, too!
Fantastic! How does he keep doing it? Congrats, Jim!
