DescriptionAvenging Spider-Man 15.1Art by Paco Medina Marvel Comics - December 26, 2012 This is a special one and it felt fitting to post this on the day The Superior Spider-Man Returns #1 hits stores around the world. This issue gave us the origin story with Otto taking over Peter's body and suiting up for the first time as the Superior Spider-man! I loved how each panel highlighted the somewhat subtle updates that Otto-Peter made to the suit. Beautiful pencil work and storytelling from Paco Medina. It's my understanding that the inks were done digitally. This issue was released the same week as Amazing Spider-Man #700 and led directly into Superior Spider-Man #1. Superior Spider-Man also appeared on the last page of ASM #700 in the new "Superior" costume. Issue 15.1 gave us the backstory, Otto-Peter suiting up, and a deeper look at what was to come... Very very cool! Brings to mind the classic image of Iron Man suiting up. Great pick up!

The layout gives us that visual rhythm building up to a crescendo with the mask on.

Just a great example of solid art. Action scenes are easy by comparison. Great art and a great pick up!

I totally agree. I love the cinematic feel Paco gave this sequence with the wide/widescreen panels cutting from moment to moment. It was a great call to pull us in with the intimate eye/lens panel, which demands focus before the big reveal on the next page.

You KNOW I love this one, George! Can't beat superhero, or super villains as superheroes, suit up pages! Really enjoyed this arc and this was Ock's first donning his "superior" version of the Spider-Man costume - so cool! And some excellent pencil line work, no doubt. Congrats!
