DescriptionEthan has been making waves with his commissions, and rightly so - they continue to grow in complexity, skill, and even size! This more modest Death is an illustration he created, and I was fortunate to snag it after seeing it on social media. The sound of her wings, the sight of his skill! Great choices in composition coupled with a no-holds-barred approach to the execution yield an absolute treasure. I'm very pleased to have this example. Social/Sharing |

I must say, what I love most about this piece is the crosshatching technique he used to delineate the shadow she's casting, as well as on her jeans. Just wonderful. But I notice that she akso appears to have a different facial look/appearance to how she's usually portrayed, which is nice because I don't think every artist should always stick to the same exact facial construct, hairstyle, etc. Kudos!

That's right...why wouldn't she have wings, being the Angel of Death. Congrats.

Really, really lovely, M L, and I really love how the shadow is "reversed" (darker at the top and lighter at the bottom, closer to the light source); it creates such a cool effect and feels all the more fitting for Death, with the wings becoming more substantive as they get closer to the sky and ultimate release. Beautiful piece, M L; congrats!

Jealousy follows my Death all night
Ethan feels you over here, Ethan feels you over here
Young takes up every corner with art lines (what you gon' do now?)
Ever since the d-day Y-Young draws away (no, I don't know how)
How to erase your pencils from out the frame (what you gon' do now?)
Maybe I should just focus on Dream instead (but all I think about)
Gaiman's rights that were tangled up in your head
Oh no (oh no)
Oh no (oh no)
You're drawin' 'round dream squirrels
Got her shadow wings of Death, yeah
Memories follow me Death alright
Ethan feels you over here, Ethan feels you over here
Young takes up every corner with his lines
Your love stays with Dream day and night
Ethan feels you over here, Ethan feels you over here
Young takes up every corner of my mind (what you gon' do now?)
