Description

Happy to finally add a strip from the 50�s to my Johnny Hazard collection! Robbins� art goes through an interesting evolution in this decade where he tightens up a bit and his characters get a little more realistic compared to his 40�s work that was cartoony-er and more reflective of Caniff�s early Terry and the Pirates work. As far as the market goes it seems like this decade is the most sought after when it comes to Hazard originals so I kind of settled on the affordable example I could get my hands on. In the future now that I have an example from every decade and stylistic evolution Robbins went through on the strip I�ll look to possibly upgrade to nicer pieces.

Haha yeah the whole thing has a certain unintentional vibe to it. The first thing I actually thought about when I saw the strip is this hilarious picture of Frank and his wife on the beach with Jordi Bernet, this strip is about a decade before that pic though.
