DescriptionImage Comics. April, 2004.Ottley inks over his own blue line pencils on just his 5th issue for the series. Put this in the "Never thought I'd have a page from this issue!" category. Robert Kirkman dubbed issue #12 "The Big One": the now infamous Invincible vs. Omni-Man fight. The status quo shift here was groundbreaking (figuratively and in this page literally!) and this fight set the tone for the rest of the series. This is a great singular representation from the issue that sums up the encounter. Omni-Man punches Mark into the mountain the fight concludes on while becoming angrier at his resistance. Hard to believe this is over 20 years old now, that means it's vintage! I created stats on a transparent overlay to give the piece its published context. I also included some screenshots from the episode of the animated series which used this page almost panel for panel. Still gives me goosebumps when I watch the fight and it comes to this sequence. I was able to have Ottley sign this and another page (that I foolishly sold!) at NYCC 2024. Such a cool dude, and had some nice words to say about the addition of the stat's I added. He confirmed he still owns a few pages from this issue including the one right after this. A highlight of the con! Social/Sharing |

Nice pick up! These pages light up the screen when adapted because they hold more than just action, but are core essential characterization of the series.

Oh the story telling on this page is top notch. With your added contributions it's a big plus.

I can't resist resisting the significance of this issue, the awesomenes of each page, and the epicness of this page in particular. Way to kick it up to 12 (instead of 11, because this is from issue 12 of course) with the dialog overlay.
