Description

I was unfamiliar with Marco's work till he was signed by Inky Knuckles and I found his style really interesting. The best way I can come up to describe it is it's got manga flair but with a European sensibility. When IK opened a commission list for him, I was all over it.

My request was "Cable" but look at what that resulted in! The addition of Hope is perfect here and adds a touch of tenderness to our grizzled badass. The massive revolver is essentially a cannon in her hands. I chatted with Marco a bit online and found out he's a huge Lone Wolf and Cub fan which makes sense when you look at this piece.

And that background...I'm not gonna ruin it by describing it ad nauseum so I implore you all to click on the image and take it in. The different types of screentones alone are worth the effort. This has easily catapulted into my Top 3 Cable commissions.

Too much fun! Love all the little touches and Lone Wolf was the first thing I thought of when seeing this image. Congrats! Could use a couple more bird nests 😅

Really unique interpretation of Cable and it works wonderfully! Not only packed with details and a manga like style, but you have to appreciate the use of tones. Awesome piece Eranga!!

I love when the backgrounds are as thought out and wonderfully done as the main figures, while also not taking away from the main figures. Beautiful work.

I agree with you that the addition of Hope really makes this piece special. It is a little like Lone Wolf and Cub, but it's also a little like the Mandalorian and the child--It's the addition of the one he's protecting that makes his aggressiveness more understandable. Fabulous commission!
