Like probably many of us, I was introduced to Gary's work on his incredible Hulk run (see what I did there?). So it always puts a big smile on my face to see him go back to Marvel characters. Just so much pure energy and raw power in Gary's drawings. If I came back from a show with only this piece, I'd still be absolutely thrilled. Congrats!

I just think that Cable's gear weighed him down so much that he began to sink into the ground. All that character baggage of his origin and being a son of Cyclops is also a big burden.

I think I like his Cable more than Liefeld's. Friggin awesome.

Ha! Love the Liefeld touches towards the bottom, but the inking reminds me a bit of Bolland and Gibson --- both 80s and 90s artists are evoked here, at least to my eye. Great pose and execution by the way!

I don't think that Frank can draw something bad even with a (Cable) gun on his head.
(I'm frustrated that you mentioned the Liefeld homage coz' I wanted to look clever but what a GREAT fun touch).

Outstanding representation of the character. The homage adds some great humor to a great piece.

Oh man... pouches, guns and piles of dirt to hide the out of proportion feet... what an amazing talent!

Classic character done by an amazing artist in his classic pose. And his feet properly covered and lots of pouches, what else could one possibly want. Oh I know, a mole at his feet. Perfect!

I was laughing about the feet before reading the description. Genius.
