DescriptionThis was one of Jesse's first attempts at doing a piece exclusively using various rubber stamps. I was sold immediately on the creativity of it all. Since this was done, he's perfected his process - adding color stamps and more pen details to his newer pieces. ML has an incredible Galactus piece in his gallery I'm envious of.Social/Sharing |

Yes, you can see this one isn't nearly as evolved as they would eventually get, but it's still a nice example showing a cool technique in its nacency which is fun to look at when comparing the various stages of the evolution of this style.

The early raw effort proudly makes the bold announcement to what this new Lonergan style was about. A perfect subject to begin this evolution in style, as is crafted to plainly show the use of stamps in a raw and powerful manner.

Wow. And speaking of which, friendly reminder to return to your late library books.

Cool piece, wonder how many different stamps are used? I'm seeing 9 or so?

OOOOOOH!! I LOVE this! This is the very first I'm seeing of Jesse's "stamp technique" (and thanks for sending me over to M L's to check out his Galactus - I had somehow missed that before!) and am completely floored.
(My son looked over my shoulder just now and exclaimed "Holy crap!!" when he saw this, too. :) )
I love this just as much as the Galactus, I think, for the "purity" of the execution (i.e. - all stamps). Love how Jesse will use density of the stamps (overlaying multiple layers over each other) to really give things weight and extra "oomph". Eranga, this is positively spectacular! Great pick up! Congrats!!
