DescriptionElektra: Root Of Evil #1 Inside Front Cover (& Inside Back Cover)(Credits Pages Artwork) Art by Scott McDaniel I've been building myself a bit of an Elektra: Root Of Evil "set" of Scott McDaniel artwork from the 4 issue miniseries from the mid 90s that I'm a fan of and read earlier on in my understanding and appreciation for the Elektra character. I've previously shared the Back Covers to issue #1 and issue #2. Here we have the Inside Front Cover to issue #1 which has the main credits for the issue in the beginning of the book, which was also made into a reverse stat and used as the Inside Back Cover to issue #1 which has the Elektra Created by Frank Miller and fine print credits in the back of the book (see additional images for how it was published in both cases). Thanks to James S whom I did a packaged deal with for this piece and the Wolverine Heroes For Hire page I posted a bit ago. A squirrel for him became a core collection piece for me! This concludes my postings to CAF for 2024. It was an incredibly tough and challenging year for me physically, professionally, and personally. But the Comic Art hobby at large was one of the brightest spots for me, always lifting me up, and for that I have to thank so many of you. Congrats on building out this set, Kavi. McDaniel's work from this era is quite striking.
More importantly, all the best to you in 2025 after a year of challenges. Hope to run into you at OAX.

I am always impressed with the different artistic styles that Scott McDaniel has experimented with during his career, and this one works so beautifully for Elektra. Outstanding cover, Kavi! Happy New Year!

HA thanks Ruben! In this case I've got nothing else stashed away - I believe one collector has the front covers to 2 of the issues (if their CAF gallery is up to date anyway) and I've never seen the other 2 anywhere else. A nice interior page from the series would be a cool way to wrap up this art set aside from a cover materializing eventually. Happy New Year Ruben!

2024 was a toughie, but you made it, and we're on to 2025! Way to close things out here, Kavi. Nice design with his statuesque Elektra and you gotta have that trademark McDaniel use of light and shadow! Congrats, man!

Wow! Stunning art by Scott McDaniel! I've always loved Elektra as a character. She stands alone in her relationship with Daredevil and other Marvel Characters. This drawing of her by McDaniel captures so much of her personality. I love the way Scott drew her here in that black and white chiaroscuro look that Frank Miller popularized.Interesting that here, insread of wearing her usual ninja-type clothing, she's naked, but covered by a traditional Japanese robe with elaborate patterns and bows and ties. The robe hangs on her, and does not quite fit right, perhaps because she doesn't fit in. Interesting too that here she is posed like a statue, as if this is a tribute to her in death. So many interesting clues as to who she might really be. Gorgeous drawing and inking by McDaniel. Great pick-up!
