I picked up another Shawn McManus piece at the recent CAF Live. The item was billed as a "Commission", but appears to be more of a Sketchbook page? Though the artwork is done on a 11" x 17" sheet of Bristol, rather than paper.. Maybe because I've worked in Animation most of my life, I can only marvel at his confident line work! The guy is a natural cartoonist, with a real looseness to his Drawing Style. I was happy to get my mitts on this page of Sketches and Doodles, so I could study his work more closely. The fact that he splashed bits of water-colour on some of the drawings.. Or, that he left some of the blue pencil layout drawing underneath.. Only made the piece more appealing to me! Many thanks to Brian Mulcahy for a smooth/easy purchase. Cheers!
