DescriptionA 2021 NYCC commission turned into a mail-in because the team from Argentina had to cancel their appearance this year. Super bummed but also super thrilled to receive these bad boys a little bit early. Working with Nicolas was a breeze, thanks! I gave the artist a short list and this is what Ed went with. The longer one studies this piece, the more the story unfolds. It’s pretty amazing. Eranga posted his piece recently also and it's interesting to see an artist experimenting with new techniques such as this white-out splatter meld. Another happy coincidence is that this piece pairs quite nicely with my Elsa Charretier Star Wars Adventures piece - the distinctive curves of the Falcon's interior corridors could make for some interesting sets. Thanks for looking! Have a great weekend! Social/Sharing |

Gorgeous piece depicting the tag team of ALL tag teams in the galaxy far far away!

Awesome commission. I'm not used to seeing Risso do a likeness and the composition of this piece also seems to be a slight departure from his trademark style, but the evolution is what keeps things exciting and interesting. Nicely done!

Young Luke has been practicing with the blast helmet on again or those are some Darth Vader marks in the corridor meaning they need to turn back and run pretty soon. Excellent single image storytelling with Risso's uses of black and white techniques.

That came out great. Is it in hand already?
Yessir! I think he had finished it and as soon I sent the wire payment they popped it in the mail.

very cool commission! i like the battle ready and edgy look here on Chewie as they await danger around the corner, blasters at the ready.

If I was wracking my brain for a Risso commission idea, I have to be honest, a SW piece would probably be the last thing on my mind. Not that I don't LOVE Star Wars, but probably not a theme I associate with Eduardo. Of course now that I see this fabulous piece, the only thing I can think of is, WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!!! I believe the correct term fo this is, thinking outside the box. I guess I should try it sometime. Congrats on a great commish ML.

Thats almost a surreal suggestion. The Big Picture thinking outside the box. You are stuck in an Adams box and need to spread your mental wings to broaden your boxed perspective. Lol.

A really special Commission, a fantastic idea wonderful executed. I only wonder how the Ewoks would look "Rissorized"...

This is incredible man. It's like a min-comic in one pin-up. Like you mentioned, the story-telling is top notch! I hope Eduardo keeps moving along the path of experimenting with texture while still keeping the Risso-ness of it all intact.

A rarity in art is to see an artists work getting better and better over many years and this is a case in point.

Risso can do no wrong, and what an original image from him! Hadn't seen his take on the Star Wars universe before and now I want more

Risso's take on the characters is fantastic, but what I really can't get over is his ability to give the cylindrical hallway of the ship such amazing depth. I'm almost getting vertigo from staring at what Risso did. Truly impressive.

That is outstanding. Star Wars would never be my first choice for a Risso commission, but what an amazing result. Such a great surprise combination!

I like how it's so clearly Risso's take on these 2. Great inks and I love how he chose the corridor setting! Congrats!

Eduardo Falcon interior plus Elsa Falcon interior seems like a delicious double framed duo.
