DescriptionIt would be impossible to find an artist of the Modern Age who has had a bigger impact on Spider-Man than Todd McFarlane. A number of great covers have sold by the master in the last several years - including one that is still tied for the record of most expensive piece of American comic art of all time - but none more iconic than this cover which is an absolute classic piece featuring Spider-Man in one of the very last times he would ever wear the black costume (soon to become his legendary nemesis - Venom). This is the issue that marked the first full appearance of Venom. Covers just don't get any more memorable. This one is burned into the collective imagination of all comic fans. Signed by McFarlane in three places. As an added bonus, there is a signed hand-written note on the back from McFarlane (presumably to the Editor, Jim Salicrup). Wow, well--that is about as impressive a CAF update as they come. I remember how excited I was by this issue as a reader at the time--pumped about McFarlane, excited about the classic costume coming back, loving that my favorite hero had ascended back to super-start status. Very iconic piece--congrats!

This is one of those postings where, when you first see it, you're immediate thought is - 'that can't be the real cover, can it?'. But, then it is. Which is remarkbly cool. Great piece. You're on a heck of a run :)

For an entire comics reading generation this is THE comic. For all it's simplicity it is not only an all time classic but must be the most oft-imitiated cover image ever. Bravo!

Iconic --yes! Big Congrats, glad it's in good hands! btw I found this in the 'wild' many years ago and paid a collector to drive 5 hrs (each way) to pick it up for me --good times 🤓

'Faulty' seems a bit judgemental in itself. I think many of us regret having to sell things but in this case I had other McSpidey covers (which also eventually were sold or traded) --still think I've done ok and happy Dinesh treasures it!
