Description

I've kept it old school so far when it comes to my original art collecting but I couldn�t resist picking up this dreamy and dreamlike published sketchbook piece by contemporary artist Tillie Walden. Although she's still in her early 20s, Walden has already earned an Eisner Award for her graphic memoir, Spinning (2017).

I first encountered Walden�s work in the Eisner-nominated On a Sunbeam. From there, I devoured pretty much everything she produced before and after. I expect her profile to rise even further when her Walking Dead book featuring the character Clementine arrives in 2022.

Man this is some beautifully heavy inking! Hard not to let it ripple ones imagination upon seeing it. Bet its inhuman in person. Congrats!

Amazing storybook feel to this scene of lost ships and lost souls out at sea.

Quite the stunning piece. I've now got a couple of her books on order from the library to check her work out.
