Description

A wonderful gift by Al Milgrom to me after I had given him some gifts. In addition, the previous day I suggested my friend get a commission from Al. Al spelled my name with an extra "i" which Joe would sometimes make that mistake too.

I left and came back to this surprise. Al had written "Simon-ized" which was the Comic Art repriting term that Joe came up with. Joe would bleach comic pages and enhance them to reprint artwork. Turns out Simonized also means to Wax something which Al and I found out then.

Milgrom draws a muscular Cap with a winning smile for a style springing from the Silver Age to his Captain America run inking in the 80's.

That's very true. Joe didn't like to draw cap too muscular. Joe started his career drawing boxing figures and Athletic so he always gave his comic characters those traits which made them more realistic, slim yet still fit. But I do like Al's take on it.
