DescriptionJump on board.Another case here of finally, Finally, FINALLY! Against all odds my brother and I managed to acquire all 3 issues and must have read the series ragged, and I suspect the original books disintegrated from overuse. A study, almost to excess, of duality and mirror images - the story and the art always resonated with me. Rude's organic shapes and Kesel's confident blacks immerse the reader into the world they have created. The villains are evil yet comical - the heroes are forceful yet kind. A simple story for a simpler time, but there will always be a place in my heart for it. Thanks VERY much to the good friend who reached out to me when they were letting it go. This page is a study in brilliance. The shapes, perspective, panel breaks - the studied care that has gone into every element is evident. Thanks for looking! Don't forget to catch the Dude later today on CAF! Social/Sharing |

Luuuved this series when it came out. Especially Rude's Superman. Not a lot of the nicer pages seem to be in circulation and this is definitely a stellar one.

The level of talent combined to create this comic is staggering. The page itself wow. Batman as icon. Batman the contemplative. Superman an understated self contained superpower. These comic pages demand the reader slow down and become absorbed in the story. This is not a flip through book. I am glad it came home to a caring and grateful gallery.

Nice page. The 3rd panel has a slight Paul Pope feel about it. Congrats!

Hey Rude, don't make Bill mad.
Get your popcorn and add the butter.
Remember number order your art,
Then you can start to make it faster.
Hey Rude, don't be afraid.
YouTube made us collect together.
The minute you let Bill under your skin,
Then it begins for claim show buyers.
And anytime he Billagans, hey Rude, refrain,
So many the World’s Finest collectors.
For well you know that it's so cool he interviews
By making this world a little better.

Some great poses throughout and a nice rotating perspective. Batman looks very GQ in that 3rd panel. Great page Mikail!

Love the dynamic and natural poses each character strikes. From just the thumbnail you can see it's a well thoughtout page with great storytelling elements
Really love the final two panels - congratulations!

FANTASTIC piece, ML. The full might of The Dude's storytelling and illustrative muscle is on display here, with understated power coursing through every inch of this thing... It's the level of beautiful, self-assured work that only comes to a gifted student of the medium after a lifetime of study and practice... It's just so GOOD. I'm absolutely thrilled that you scored such a lovely page from a work that means so much to you, Mikail! It's gorgeous! Congrats!

Mixture of storytelling choices (perspectives, shadows, etc) as well as Rude's uniquely stylized looks melds for a killer example. Love the transition from panel 2 to 3, with the silhouetted Bats then the head shot, breaking panel. Cool stuff. Congrats, M!

This series was my first exposure to the work of Steve Rude as a kid. I'll admit to not being sure what to make of it at the time - it was certainly different than what I was used to from reading X-Men, Avengers, FF and the like. Of course as I got a little older, I grew to appreciate Rude's art more and more, and after finally reading Nexus in 1999, I came to understand the guy's work is genius level. Seeing this page now, I realize that I need to revisit this series as I'm sure I'll enjoy it even more as an adult. Big congrats on the awesome addition to your collection!
