DescriptionJoe Simon - Stuntman, Fighting American, The FlyIllustration Original Art (c. 2000). This soulful studio-type pose captures a triumvirate of 1950s-era characters of the Simon & Kirby studio: Stuntman, Fighting American, and The Fly Ink and opaque watercolors on textured watercolor stock. Image area, 14.5" x 12" A very nice calm piece done by Joe. I have deemed the piece as “Barstools” Social/Sharing |

After the war, Joe was involved in the creation of few superheroes. There are probably the most famous. Great combo beautifully drawn and colored. Congrats.

Very captivating look as the colors give them a special gloss of realism that you'd normally find in the high end quality comics that ran in Playboy. I like the barstool name. I would also suggest "The Dating Game" with all three looking their most handsome.

yes, Someone else had mentioned the Dating Game. Slightly before my time but I understand the reference. Theyre all putting their best foot foward, thats for sure.

Classy classic? Classic classy? I read and loved Joe Simon's autobiographical books, so it is a lot of fun to see these three greats from the master's 'pushcart'. Thank you for sharing this perfect piece.

I'm glad you enjoy them. My father wrote the Comic Book Makers with Joe. Check out my other pieces if you haven't already.
