Funny story on this one. I bought this from Steve Ellis at the inaugural Hershey Comic Con of which I believe there were two, neither of which were actually in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Steve had a massive display of his original art for sale, with a massive sign explaining that prices were on each piece of art. The dynamic motion of this piece struck me, and I had to have it, even if I had no idea what it was from. As it turned out, it was the only piece missing a price. Steve was talking to a group of teenage fans, and I didn�t want to interrupt, so I decided to come back later, and risk it being sold.

I came back later, and the piece was still there, and asked Steve about the price. He, understandably, gave me a �You�re an idiot� look, followed by smiling and going to point out the price. He then had a �WTF?� look, and went looking to see if the price tag had fallen off into the display the art was on, and as I had earlier he couldn�t find one. I made a comment to the effect of �I�m not as dumb as I sound, eh?� and we had a good laugh about it.

I�m not sure when or how I found out the art was from the World of Warcraft CCG, but was only about two years ago that I finally got some copies of the card. And it was only as I prepared to post it here that I realized how much the art had been edited for its published version, much like a Broken Gargoyles page I have.

Great addition! The pencils give us previously unseen details that the painting would differ.
