I had to go back and go through my collection after reading your description. When issue five of Journeys magazine used the artwork the wizard was truncated out, but on the RPG core rulebook and the game catalogs for '92 the wizard was included in the published version.
Now to go back and slumber amongst my GDW collection.

My apologies for the delay in responding; I got locked out of the email where I receive my notifications of comments.
Locking my galleries was the compromise to me just deleting my account entirely. I locked it after finding someone had taken two of my pieces and was selling colored versions as their own original art, which came a bit after finding out two pieces I had created myself that I posted on another site had been similarly copied and sold. All that was after an absurd incident in 2022 where someone contacted me to complain I wasn't posting high-enough resolution pics on here for them to copy and sell prints of.
Ironically, after I locked my galleries I found some of my prose had also been ripped off, and last night I found someone else who has copied my work and passed it off as their own.
It might be time for me to again disappear from the internet and just keep everything to myself.
I never knew the term “Sneakerhead” before your post, but the son of a neighbor was involved in the culture for several years, working at a store dedicated to out-of-production sneakers. Prior to that I had encountered a few people who collected sneakers, but they were all buying from other collectors online and displaying them in acrylic cases in their living room, not buying them from a walk-in store that had a promotional display truck that they drove to events.
I still clearly recall the time he stopped by his parents’ house in the truck and the lights affixed to its sides came on, and he could not get them to turn off for about an hour. Nothing like a light show worthy of a rave in suburbia.

My simpness for redheads allows me to ignore these descrepancies, much like my Eduardo Barreto page where the Black Widow's sunglasses change between panels.
Did they retcon that the simulcrums were more like Doombots than constructs she projected her consciousness into? That was a big thing back when the DC Heroes RPG from Mayfair was being published.
I still remember when a reviewer flipped out that Maxima's stats were completely different in the Superman Sourcebook from her first in-game appearance, and me thinking "Who's Maxima?"
It's a lovely cover! It's not the character I collect from the DC Dragonlance series, but I have to admit being a smidge jealous.
And after all these years I finally wonder how New Yorkers never heard about the destruction Monsrch wrought in Metropolis during Armageddon: 2001, and so think he's an OK guy.
NGL, I'm a little jealous. I was given a bunch of Spawn comics a few months ago, and Lyra has been my favorite out of all the characters.
I think the dagger is like how Doctor Doom carries a sidearm. It is just a fashion accessory.

I feel like the last panel is even more amusing since the page's publication, since Marvel has had an ultimate universe since then.
I always remember this storyline because DC had an editorial page on the inside front cover of some comics at the time, and one of them spoiled the then-upcoming Gangbuster revelation and Superman's trip into space.
I really need to see if I still have an issue with that column, as it was the embodiment of how not to hype a story.

As someone who has gone through so many cases of mistaken identity that I keep in touch with someone just so I can contact them to verify one of the more outlandish incidents when people doubt it, I appreciate the story you shared.
