DescriptionWhat a pleasure to meet Dave Aikins in person at Heroes 2022. This was the very first commission I set up for that con and what a fantastic way to kick off the festivities!Dave's ability with likeness + attitude is supreme! Look at this Prince! He's 5 foot nothing but he's looking WAY down at us mere mortals. It also sparked a nice conversation into music and next time we're definitely doing a Bowie. Prince had a powerful presence that combined with his superhuman talent to elevate him to the status of legend. Aikins captures that presence in this amazing piece.

Dave is great - the art and conversation. Love this choice - can't wait to see Bowie come to life on the page as well. Congrats!

The tones and highlights of his face are so incredibly well done. But it's those eyes. Talk about a steel gaze. Just brilliant work, befitting the genius of its subject.

I can neither pull off that attitude or grow that good of a mustache. And I don't play guitar. And a silk blouse on me would just be Meatloaf. Even then I am tone deaf. I am humbled before Prince.
