DescriptionNot many Conan pages penciled & inked by BWS and Frost Giant's Daughter is a classic story...at least that is my rationalization for purchasing this page at SDCC '11. This page has some of everything - Lots of Conan, a panel of battle action, the chase and Conan catching Ymir's daughter.Published in Savage Tales 1 as page 8 and in Conan 16 as page 9 - and subsequently reprinted with minor modifications in the last two panels. I feel the last two panels foreshadow his Gorblimey Press work. May 2024 Adder: Through a FB thread, I noted the charcoal shading is a distinctive technique in this story - not sure if he used it elsewhere but is unusual and cool! Social/Sharing |

All you need to see is the expression on the girl's face to say classic BWS.

Epic BWS page. It is perfect in every way and a high point in both BWS's career and comics in general.

You can tell that BWS - the ultra-fast learner - really put some time into that fifth panel. A goregous halted-action shot. I agree that his later work springboarded off of panels like this.

Some breathtaking design elements, and BWS' rendering skills are in a class of their own. Congratulations on procuring an absolute masterwork!
