DescriptionI think you could probably name any character that he's drawn and I'd say, "Arthur Adams is in my top 3 artists for that character" but it's especially true for the Thing. I think he always does Aunt Petunia proud with his rendering and design of Ben Grimm.I first got into FF during the latter Pollard / Sinnott run, right in the midst of the 'mutated' Thing period. So, I have a particular soft spot for that design. It lasted from around the Fall of '87 to the Spring of '89, and I don't think the look has been revisited, but I loved it then and love it now! I had gotten on Arthur's con list with this request at the last 3 shows I saw him at, but it was unfortunately not picked. Still, it all worked out and I was able to acquire this beauty from the last CGC opportunity. Very grateful that Arthur makes these opportunities available, and absolutely loved how it turned out. I like the tight close up, and that he filled the full frame of the blank, and Ben has a no-nonsense look on his face that comes easy in the mutated monstrous form. Great things come to those who wait! Social/Sharing |

Talk about patience paying off!! Not only do you finally get your mutated Thing, but AA absolutely knocked it out of the park! I love that he used basically every possible bit of empty space (and then some!) to make Thing feel appropriately massive.

Wowiee! Great Things come from patience and an extra dose of cosmic rays through the pen of the GOAT.

Unique look for the Thing and even more rare to see Art Adams draw this version! Ben has a more aggressive look and has a spiky crown like a new hairstyle.
