DescriptionDon Rosa kindly made this convention drawing in Baltimore Comic Con (10/2022). My idea for this Scrooge's "Currency Market View" series was a common, real life market view for our (a bit unreal) fiat currencies: EUR, GBP, JPN, USD, and so on. And also physical gold.At first I was thinking "holy triptych" from USD, EUR & JPY, but then extended a bit idea when visited again in BCCs. So, Scrooge's emotions are in line with market expectations: having a pile of the Hong Kong dollar is offering a bit of an unstable position. If you look carefully, now Scrooge is not having actually a pile of coins but chips for casinos. Coins would shine, plastic chips not. Casinos in Hong Kong offering clear business risk and having impact into local GDP. A bigger and less visible threat is coming from China. Those keep Scrooge's pile of chips shaking. This drawing is done on A3 size paper (30 x 42 cm, 11.7 x 16.5 inches), so it is about twice the size what normal convention sketches are done (typically in a comic book backboards). Gold marker pen is for sure the best one for this kind of artworks (about monetary views), when not using white paper. # DonRosa; #ScroogeMcDuck Social/Sharing |

You might consider having a crypto one where Scrooge has an angry face! All the way from Finland, where Rosa is probably the biggest draw in Baltimore.

Sure, but Scrooge's reaction in 2022 is going to be quite different.
