Thanks a lot :-) Royal purple was not randomly chosen ;-)
And another one here! Super rare DD daily strip modified for WDC&S! I think there is hardly even 10 pages of them survived together! Congratulations! :-)
Congratulations!! This is very rare artwork ;-) Thanks a lot for sharing :-)
Congratulations! :-) This is really lovely artwork, and once knowing how rare those are, it was really a good decision to get it :-) Nothing similar has appeared since you bought it, and neither there was available earlier ;-)
ah, this is so beautiful! I love Art Nouveau style and trying to build an interior around me from that era. You don't see that often comic art matches Art Nouveau designs, this is superb! :-)
Now it is half done, satin window mat (satin makes black much darker, not reflecting light) with silver rim list, just like instruments rings in Jags dashboard ;-) But the frame I am still thinking and looking for a suitable one. The backboard (where the artwork is mounted with photo corners only, so no any tape is used) and window mat wasn't 100% adjusted for the photo, so it looks like the window mat is a bit overlapping the panel. I must confess it was a bit tight dimensioning, or maybe I made a mistake, or the frame shop, or Raymond made 2mm higher dailies in 1955 vs 1953, from where I took the measurements.
BIG Congratulations! :-) And thanks for sharing the gem here ;-) This is really awesome artwork, and as you wrote, there is not much survivied CB OA.
Big Congratulations! :-) This was the best auction/gallery CB OA acquisition in 2022! ;-) Really nice compositions, details, and the price ;-)
Big congratulations! :-) Now we know where is 3 consecutive pages from this story ;-)
Like Barks' artwork: mostly burnt, sigh...
Congratulations again! :-) I am happy this set found its home from Finland :-) Must be the finest set of DR books ever done! When combining the art of bookbinding, rarity, and included fine artwork ;-)
WOW!! This is awesome!! BIG Congratulations! This picture was missing from the dealer's add. I was thinking about this set of books for years, never pulled the trigger. I should have looked from the Egmont's DRL this picture! Maybe I would have then clicked buy it now ;-))
Congratulations again! :-) This is a great page! Artworks in our collections are pretty close to each other ;-)
Big congratulations!! This is really awesome page! No need to think more acquisitions from this story ;-)
WOW! This is awesome!! Congratulations! Thanks a lot for sharing high res photos :-) Now folks can see all the details without trying to find the sold-out book.
This is really awesome artwork!! And so rare, congratulations! :-) Raymond's own XK120 there ;-)

in 2019 already :-)
Awesome page! Congratulations! :-) Did the earlier owner having it since 1991? ;-) That's all tracking I am having... And have you already dug out the World Premier of this artwork? i.e. when it was first time published/printed ;-)
does is seert guyt! ;-) Hilarious daily, really lovely, congratulations! :-) But somehow having feeling that having so many historical Gottfredson's dailies might press you (too many is too much!), why not releasing few of them? ;-)
This is a lovely acquisition! Congratulations! ;-) Like Barks said, he valued the most his comic book art (1991 interview)
Maybe large beer and a towel, over his shoulder... ;-) Nope, in Finland it is not allowed to drink and swim, impossible to have beer in public swimming pool.
Big congratulations! :-) One more Gottfredson into your awesome collection ;-) And this is again a museum piece, or as said earlier, we need a higher scale definition: this is Monty's piece! This time literally!! ;-)
This is so historical artwork!! Did you got them at the same time or managed to pair them from different sources? ;-)
simply awesome artwork! The cross hatching is so superior! And newspaper readers didn't had any idea how fine artwork there was done!
This I remember from my childhood! So nice to have those flashbacks when browsing originals now, thanks a lot for sharing this :-)
I noticed this only now! I should visit more often in CAF ;-)) What a gem you have picked! Really awesome artwork, great you shared this :-) And with all the background information, giving good perspective how rare artwork these dailies are and lots of good luck needed over 90+ years to survive!
oh! This splash panel is really awesome!! :-)
Hi Tony, thanks a lot for the artwork :-) and also for the info, it is great to hear about the earlier provenance! I am not only trying to collect artwork but document our past history ;-)
Hi Thomas, I think I could guess now... ;-) if ever planning to release them please let me know, thanks a lot :-)
Maybe the story continues and I shouldn't think framing yet... well, I have no slightest idea for the location of 12-5-51 or 12-11-51 RK dailies.
Correction! ;-) BTW, you should have NOW more copies..., not "no". I am having only 2 books.
Thanks a lot Monty for your kind words! :-) I am very happy if my study has been an inspiration for you :-) Well, it has also inspired you to make bids on the items I would like to have in my collection!! ;-)) But I guess we both are pretty happy about the artworks we have managed to get. I am also thanking you for opening my eyes for many other great artists, like Alex Raymond, without seeing the originals in nature I would have never started thinking of buying them... so, your magnificent collection has inspired me a lot, and sometimes I have bid against you... ;-) BTW, you should have no more copies of my old book! ;-)
Have you managed to track the provenance? :-) I looked Laqua's catalogs (having almost all of them checked), didn't found it... This was the first time published in AR's CBL 5 in 1989.
Marcus; yes! ;-)) We all remember Monty Python's The Meaning of Life restaurant scene... (or if you don't, the starting is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v48apTLrSs8). However, the explosion at the end would have been much messier with Moomintroll... The explosion missing from this video, but we all know it! ;-)
Historic!! And one of the first MM stories I read in my childhood, so, lots of emotions! ;-)
BIG congratulations! ;-)
this is historical artwork! And not due to Ionic orders ;-)
thanks a lot for sharing this, it is great that Barks’ masterpieces are not disapearing into ”black holes”.
Congratulations! Historic piece :-) thanks a lot for sharing ;-)
Oh! You got it! ;-) Big congratulations! It looks you had much better knowledge than HA! ;-) I was also thinking this but didn’t had time to study, and most likely wouldn’t solve this in time.
This is an awesome page!! Thanks a lot for sharing! ;-)
Nice to see this artwork, thanks a lot for sharing it! :-) There is so much nice Finnish wording, pretty impossible to translate all details.
Great to know where this artwork locates, thanks a lot for sharing! :-)
Reconstruction of the story, getting original artwork into same location once again is impossible like building Sampo again.
For Finnish readers this is really special story!
This is realy awesome page! Museum quality! Thanks a lot for sharing :-)
Nice to see this artwork, thanks a lot for sharing it! :-) yep, I guess this is the only Rosa’s story not lettered in English, and Finnish readers are really enjoying ;-)

Great page, thanks a lot for sharing! :-) I was also in the race, but didn't got even bronze medal...
BIG congratulations Søren!! :-)
This is really great news, old Barks fans don't read that often about any new findings, and then this is in top-level!
